About This Wine

“For Crush, Dave and I hand-selected a special blend of our favorite varieties to create a red wine that pulls you in with notes of smoky berry and a pop of raspberry jam. Around the dinner table or out on the patio, it’s a wine you’re going to want to share with your favorite people.” –Steve Reeder on his Dave Matthews wine collaboration

YUCK!  YUCK! YUCK!
Tastes like cardboard, really!  I cannot believe other people gave these good reviews!
I will admit they are crunchy and once you get over that first cardboard taste and keep chewing they're not SO bad.  I will not buy them again.
1/5/03 Edit:  I have a plate on my counter where I collect bread, etc. to later throw to the birds (can't throw out bread my momma said) and put the rest of the wafers there.  My son,4, decides to grab one & ate it, said it was good!  My daughter,8, tried one too & said it wasn't bad.  So weird.  Except they didn't reach out for more! Ha!

Especially after tasting them after the Barkat ones: these are pretty good!
$3.49 at Peter's Cornucopia (so worth the extra .20)
The people who wrote back reviews have either not been gluten-free long enough or had WAY better wafers, not the Barkat ones.

The bills will still be here tomorrow... January 2nd!

Life has a way of sneaking up on us.  Too much drama lately in the family.  Would be nice to relax.
One of my goals for this year: Create happiness in my family.

Very excited that the kids are back in school: back to a schedule.  Except the kids didn't fall asleep until 11pm, again!  I need to start creating a better nightime routine.

Sasha told me this morning that Gigi wanted her to sleep with him in his bed last night instead of going up to her bunk bed.  Why?  He didn't think the angels would watch him that night.
Last night they went to bed very late, so instead of taking turns praying we said the Lord's Prayer.  Gigi interupted the prayer half way thru to say he wanted the three of us to say our own prayers. Since he's still uncomfortable saying his own he either repeats a prayer I make for him or Now I Lay Me Down To Sleep.  Of course I forgot about his request by the end of the prayer because I remembered I had bills to pay.

Lesson:  Pay Attention & Focus on the kids.  The bills will still be there tomorrow.

New Year's Day!

Sasha's friend Katie came over.  This allowed me to clean the kitchen.  Had plans to put laundry away but did some of it right before going to bed.... at 2am!
The girls mostly played with their American Girl dolls.  Gigi played w/ his 3DS & Wii - Boy am I glad school starts tomorrow!  I was afraid he'll damage some brain cells with all those virtual games.

New Year's Eve

Made dinner:
Tomato, Mozzarella, Basil Skewers orange grape tomatoes instead of red - much yummier!
Alice Springs Chicken w/ mashed potatoes (w/ butter, salt, heavy cream & sprinkles w/ dill weed).
Classic Italian Cheesecake
Champage: Martini & Rossi Asti little bottle, just enough for two glasses.
Tropicana Orange Juice :)

Company: Sasha, Gigi, Riki.  My parents & sister, Svetlana.
